Award winner at World of Wearable Art!
I was awarded 'runner up' in the Bizarre Bra section in the World of Wearable Art Awards held in Wellington, New Zealand in October 2010.
I went to Wellington for the awards evening and had a blast! During my flight to Wellington I muttered 'this better be a good show!" because i flew in a prop plane through one of the countries worst winter wind storms. The air sickness was worth it, and i was greeted by one of my three friends at the airport who was just as excited as I was. We traveled to the hotel, had a quick change and then I was off to my interview by Prime TV for their upcoming documentary on WOW 2010 (to be aired in November). A lovely dinner, a bit of wine, and all of a sudden we were at the venue to watch the spectacular production of The Montana World of Wearable Art Awards evening. The audience (mostly designers and friends) was charged and vibrating and it was non-stop creativity, ingenuity, and display of fabrics, colours, and wild concepts.
I was honored to be called on stage to receive the 'runner up' award in the Bizarre Bra Section. With over 40 bras on stage in a crazy and vibrant dance number, I was stunned to be chosen from amongst such a display of talented designers. Thanks to Montana World of Wearable Art for their support and especially to the lovely model who sure knew how to make those airplanes move!
