"Phase Transitions" is a work in progress to be exhibited at The Craft Council of BC September 28-November 13,2023. It is a new installation and based on an essay I wrote that was reaction to watching a drip of paint move down a piece of thread.

"This time it slides smoothly, and the drip falls over itself, leapfrogging to the bottom. It envelopes the small items of sewing paraphernalia I’ve attached along the string: buttons, coloured threads, and thimbles, small pieces of memory from my mother’s collection, many of which I earlier cast in porcelain and glass. I’ve also included rusted pins, sewing needles, and metal clasps. They seemed just the right things to attach and to catch the liquid as it falls".
