FL-uttering is a pun on the word "uttering" and is a visual representation of my act of 'speaking out'. These 80 pieces (utterances) leap off the gallery wall to invite, entice, and create humor around the perimeters of the white, Modernist gallery space. They reach deep into my love of domestic processes (i.e sewing, wrapping) and integrate cast-glass with wire, thread, fabric, wax, and paint. A continued exploration and expansion of this piece allows me to experiment at a quicker pace, and create work that is closer in feeling to a journal-like self-narrative.
