Botanical Bottles
This is a new series of work that is inspired from the study of the Perfume Bottle. I have been looking at Lalique and his cast work- though Kiln-casting is a very different medium than hot-casting. It has been a technical challenge working on inside imagery, floating inner cores, outside shapes, stoppers and the base. The exploration continues...All imagery is taken from my direct environment and responds to a location. I use multiple types of molds to capture their details and then cast them in glass. Polishing through to the interior of the bottle is a highlight of the process.
